About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Handyman to join their household manufacturing company in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and servicing various building structures and systems to ensure the safety and functionality of their facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
- Inspect buildings and equipment for potential maintenance issues and address them promptly.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and update maintenance schedules as needed.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Improve and maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Support management systems like Pragma, ISO9001, NOSA, WCM etc.
- Adhere to safety legislation and safe working practices.
Requirements
- Matric
- Trade certification in plumbing, electrical work, or carpentry is a plus.
- A building-related qualification or attended courses or practicals
- At least 2 years of working experience in building maintenance or service/utilities environment
- Experience in water reticulation and plumbing, and building work, including painting, plastering, and carpentry work
- A team player
- Knowledge of plant safety
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Good timekeeping
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
