About the Role
The Warehouse Manager position is a critical role in overseeing all warehousing operations, including receiving, assembly, packing, and dispatch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory control, managing stock levels, and implementing efficient logistics and transportation management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all warehousing operations
- Ensure accurate inventory control and stock reporting
- Manage stock levels, perform cycle and full stock counts
- Eliminate obsolete stock and ensure optimal inventory turnover
- Plan and manage procurement processes (local and imports)
- Develop and maintain inventory naming and numbering conventions
- Manage transportation and shipping, both domestic and international
- Negotiate and manage transporter and supplier contracts
- Ensure cost-effective and timely delivery schedules
- Maintain safety standards in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Safeguard warehouse operations and reduce damage and shrinkage
- Monitor and implement operational procedures and policies
- Manage warehouse team and logistics staff
- Provide leadership, training, and ensure team development
- Conduct performance management and ensure accountability
Requirements
- Minimum education: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a similar field
- Minimum applicable experience (years): 5 years
- Required nature of experience: Warehouse and Logistics management
- Skills and Knowledge (essential):
- ERP and warehouse systems
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Strong understanding of warehouse and inventory management best practices
- Solid knowledge of domestic and international logistics and transport planning
- Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Sage)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite
- Working knowledge of procurement and supply chain principles
- Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements in a warehouse environment
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
