About the Role
Protea Placements is seeking an experienced Tax Clerk to join their high-performing team in Knysna, WCA dynamic and well-established Chartered Accounting firm based in Knysna, with a satellite office in Plettenberg Bay.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete and submit high volumes of Personal Income Tax returns (ITR12)
- Complete and submit Trust returns (ITR12T)
- Perform Provisional Tax calculations and submissions (IRP6)
- Handle SARS correspondence including verifications, audits, queries, and objections
- Maintain and update client tax databases and track deadlines
- Engage with clients professionally via email and telephone
- Support audit and accounting teams with tax-related queries
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in a tax environment within a professional services firm
- Proven track record of processing high volumes of tax returns accurately and timeously
- Fully proficient on SARS eFiling
- Must have family or close ties to the Garden Route (Knysna / Plettenberg Bay)
- Strong academic record (matric certificate with subject marks required)
- Contactable references from direct supervisors at last two employers
Qualifications
- BCom or Diploma in Tax/Accounting advantageous
- Experience with GreatSoft advantageous
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Salary & Benefits
- R20 000 – R25 000 per annum
