IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this mine of the future. Suitable candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 Diesel Mechanic, Electrical or Fitter Engineering Trade Certificate Sound planning (time management), leading and organisational abilities Computer literate MS Office Suite Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: 6 8 years working experience Extensive post-trade qualified experience Extensive knowledge of mining operations Extensive experience of TMM and Underground Machinery Extensive experience of planned maintenance Familiar with mining process and maintenance requirements of related equipment and structures Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Ensure that working conditions are maintained to high and acceptable standards Ensure the safe, efficient and productive engineering maintenance of all equipment Ensure the safe installation of all machinery and equipment in his area of responsibility Co-ordinate maintenance and statutory inspections and audits Ensure the execution of scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical repairs and installation work as required Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform them on maintenance, activity performance and availability of equipment. Support the overall business management of the site Achieve and, where possible, exceeding monthly production targets Lead and supervise a team of subordinates under his control Properly plan and implement systems to control the work output and quality of his subordinates Build a strong and motivated team Offer coaching and on-the-job training to ensure maintenance according to organisational standards Contribute actively to the training, professional development and adaptation of Ivanplats workers in accordance with the laws and regulations Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget. Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance as well as spares availability Assist the Manager with preparation of budgets and monitoring related expenditure Administrative duties to ensure record accuracy, spares availability, budget compliance and HSE compliance.
