Employer Description 5-Star Safari Game Lodge in Limpopo Job Description Our client is seeking a Restaurant Manager with proven experience in 4- or 5-star game lodge restaurants. The role requires strong operational leadership, team training and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a luxury lodge setting. Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight: Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service delivery, adherence to health and safety standards, and consistent guest satisfaction. Manage floorplans, waiter allocations, reservations and special requests while maintaining efficiency across all dining venues. Guest Experience Management: Coordinate guest seating, greetings, and overall flow of service to create lasting first and final impressions. Handle inquiries, feedback and complaints with professionalism and tact, ensuring personalized attention and a welcoming atmosphere. Staff Leadership & Training: Supervise, manage, and train waitstaff, beverage/bar teams and wine service staff, fostering a positive, professional and culturally competent work environment. Develop training programs to enhance service standards, guest communication, and adaptability to diverse cultural requirements. Service & Culinary Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team to design, update and implement menu trends and offerings. Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure smooth service execution, timely delivery of dishes and alignment between front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Wine & Beverage Program Management: Oversee and drive wine list curation, beverage offerings and bar service standards. Lead training initiatives to elevate product knowledge, service techniques and team confidence in delivering premium beverage experiences. Ambiance & Atmosphere Control: Maintain the dining room’s atmosphere by managing lighting, music, cleanliness and overall presentation to align with the restaurant’s brand identity and guest expectations. Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field. Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in luxury hospitality, specifically within 4- or 5-star game lodge restaurants or fine dining establishments. – NON NEGOTIABLE Proven experience managing multiple dining venues and leading diverse teams. Must have drivers license Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required in a lodge environment. Skills Strong administrative skills with attention to detail in reservations, rosters, inventory and health & safety. Effective leader with experience in supervising, training and motivating staff. Excellent communication skills with a professional approach to guest enquiries and complaints. Skilled at working under pressure, multitasking and maintaining high service standards. Knowledge of restaurant management software is an advantage. Motivated to grow with the Food & Beverage Department and contribute to innovation.
