About the Role
Takora Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Intermediate Cost Estimator to join our team in Midrand. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for industrial electrical projects. You will work closely with our clients to understand their technical requirements and deliver high-quality proposals and quotes.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and analyse requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for quotation (RFQs)
- Analyse technical requirements and drawings
- Provide accurate and timely cost estimates for industrial electrical projects
- Develop and maintain knowledge of general tender/contractual processes, requirements, and terminology
- Manipulate calculations using Microsoft Excel
- Apply financial concepts to estimate costs
- Demonstrate expertise in electrical and automation engineering concepts, components, systems, methodologies, and processes
Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience on industrial electrical projects
- Experience in the electrical engineering & Construction Industry
- Experience in reading and analysing RFPs and RFQs
- Experience in reading and analysing technical requirements and drawings
- Knowledge of general tender/contractual processes, requirements, and terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of financial concepts
- Knowledge of electrical and automation engineering concepts, components, systems, methodologies, and processes
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) not specified
