About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Rock Engineer to join our team at Limpopo Career Consortium (Limcaco) in Rustenburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will have a strong background in rock engineering and management of strata control staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of qualified strata control staff
- Apply expertise in rock engineering to various mining projects
- Utilize numerical modelling proficiency in FLAC3D, MAP3D, and 3DEC
- Maintain computer literacy skills using MS Office Suite
- Ensure safe working conditions for all personnel
Requirements
- Mining or Geology Degree (4 years) or equivalent
- Chamber of Mines Rock Mechanics Certificate
- Member of South African Institute of Rock Engineering
- Post qualification experience in mining rock engineering (at least 5 years)
- Experience in managing a team of qualified strata control staff
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: Mining or Geology Degree (4 years) or equivalent, Chamber of Mines Rock Mechanics Certificate, Member of South African Institute of Rock Engineering
