About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Draughtsperson with a strong background in producing accurate machining and fabrication drawings for industrial fans, pressure vessels, non-pressure vessels, and related components. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver precise 3D models, detailed technical drawings, and layouts that align with project requirements and international industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings of industrial fans, pressure vessels, non-pressure vessels, and related components.
- Produce piping isometric drawings and generate material take-off lists (MTOs).
- Refine design concepts during the detail design phase.
- Create and review designs using Inventor, AutoCAD.
- Interpret and apply information from process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Ensure proper design integration with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare, update, and manage technical drawings, models, and documentation.
- Maintain structured and compliant drawing libraries in line with industry standards.
Requirements
- Diploma in Draughting or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a draughtsperson in a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical equipment design.
- Knowledge of design codes and standards (ASME, SANS, EN — advantageous).
- High attention to detail with a focus on technical accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
Diploma in Draughting or equivalent technical qualification.
