About the Role
As part of our team at Sanbona Game Reserve Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Trails Guide to join us in providing exceptional guest services and sharing their specialist knowledge with colleagues and guests. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest level of guest services whilst on trail
- Maintain ethics and sensitivity when interacting with guests in the bush
- Share specialist knowledge with colleagues and guests
- Collaborate with other guides to provide seamless service
- Recognise and respond to safety or security concerns
Requirements
- Thinking Ability: Anticipating future circumstances, conditions, and requests
- Ability to anticipate Guest needs and think up creative ways to meet these needs
- Correct communication of detailed information and instruction to others (at all levels)
- Recognition of safety or security concerns
- Competency in operation of different types of transport vehicles, electronic/digital communication systems and equipment
- Competency in operation of rifle equipment
- Ability to follow set standards of performance as expected by the organisation and local legislation
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to accurately read a map, follow directions, or programme and follow directions from a GPS system
- Conversant with specialist terminology including Wildlife, Security, and Conservation
Qualifications
- Field Guide – Level 2 (NQF 4)
- Full Trails Guide
- Other guide-related qualifications
- Firearm competency ARH
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Valid Driver’s License with valid PDP
