Job Description

Purpose of the Role The Contract Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management, performance, and compliance of security system maintenance and installation contracts across all sites. This includes CCTV, alarm systems, electric fencing, and integrated security platforms, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with company HSEC standards and mine procedures. Key Responsibilities 1. Contract & Compliance Management Ensure full compliance with all HSEC requirements, mine standards, and operational procedures. Enforce adherence to OEM specifications, SAIDSA standards, SANS requirements, and contractual KPIs. Manage supplier obligations relating to service delivery, safety, and system integrity. Ensure all licenses, warranties, and software agreements remain valid and up to date. 2. Maintenance & Operations Oversight Oversee daily maintenance of all security systems, including: Alarm systems CCTV infrastructure Electric fencing Integrated security platforms Ensure execution of an approved maintenance plan (minimum 9-hour daily coverage, flexible shifts). Monitor system uptime, performance, and fault resolution in line with contractual KPIs. Ensure immediate corrective action for high-risk system failures. 3. Asset & Infrastructure Management Ensure availability and condition of: Vehicles, tools, and equipment Spare parts and stock (as per BOQ) PPE and safety compliance items Oversee replacement and repair of defective equipment within 24 hours of PO approval. Validate that all replacement components meet or exceed existing system specifications. 4. System Integration & Technology Management Manage integration of: Alarm systems CCTV systems Electric fencing Video Management Systems (Milestone, HikCentral) Alarm monitoring platforms and CiiMS Ensure proper configuration of TCP/IP-based security networks. Oversee VLAN/VPN segmentation and network security protocols. Ensure firewall protection and controlled access to security systems. 5. Network & System Performance Management Monitor LAN/WAN performance and availability. Escalate and resolve network performance issues. Maintain secure cloud backups of system databases. Ensure regular firmware and software updates following testing protocols. 6. Installation & Project Coordination Approve and monitor timelines for new installations and system enhancements. Ensure installations comply with OEM, SANS, and SAIDSA standards. Oversee system expansion, upgrades, and commissioning processes. Validate documentation including network diagrams, layouts, and installation plans. 7. Quality Assurance & Reporting Conduct monthly site inspections with Site Managers. Ensure systems operate at optimal performance levels. Review and approve: Monthly maintenance reports Quality inspection reports Performance against maintenance plans Provide recommendations for system improvements and upgrades. 8. Alarm System Management Oversee: Alarm panel inspections and repairs Signal transmission reliability Battery, transmitter, and sensor functionality Ensure alarm systems comply with communication, enclosure, and anti-tamper requirements. Manage panic systems, antennas, repeaters, and base stations. 9. CCTV System Management Ensure: 60-day recording retention Daily system communication with control room Remote system accessibility Oversee: Camera alignment and maintenance Network stability and cable integrity Monitoring software performance Ensure uninterrupted communication between sites and control room. 10. Security Network & Cybersecurity Ensure: Secure system access controls Firewall implementation Restricted access to authorized users only Manage integration with enterprise platforms such as CiiMS. Maintain secure architecture using VLANs/VPNs. 11. Incident Management & Continuous Improvement Establish and enforce procedures for: Incident handling Escalation processes Close-out reporting Implement blank screen monitoring methodology where applicable. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in system performance and security. People & Team Management Ensure availability of qualified technical teams and relievers. Verify competencies for: Working at heights Ladder work Electrical and network installations Oversee technician performance and workmanship quality. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Security Management, IT, or related field. Experience 510 years experience in: Security systems management (CCTV, alarms, electric fencing) Contract or vendor management Mining or industrial environments (preferred) Technical Competencies Advanced knowledge of: Video Management Systems (Milestone, HikCentral) Alarm and electrified fencing systems Network infrastructure (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs) Strong understanding of: OEM lifecycle support and system warranties SAIDSA and SANS standards Integrated security platforms (CiiMS) Key Skills Contract and vendor management Technical troubleshooting and systems integration Project management and planning Risk assessment and compliance management Strong reporting and communication skills Performance Indicators (KPIs) System uptime and reliability Compliance with maintenance plans Response and repair turnaround times Quality of installations and workmanship Audit and inspection outcomes Work Environment Multi-site operations (including mines) Flexible working hours (day and afternoon shifts) Field-based with site visits and inspections Summary The Contract Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that all security systems are fully operational, compliant, integrated, and optimized , while managing vendors, technical teams, and system performance across all sites.
