Job Description
Core Criteria:
- Valid RSA Driver’s Licence and PDP
- Minimum FGASA NQF Level 4 qualification
- Backup Trails Guide qualification required and Lead Trails Guide qualification advantageous
- Valid provincial Nature Conservation registration (Mpumalanga)
- Valid First Aid certificate with wilderness component
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience guiding in a Big 5 game reserve
- Mature, responsible, and professional
- Well-spoken, well-groomed, and presentable
- Strong guest interaction and communication skills
- Proactive with the ability to take initiative
- Team-oriented with a positive work ethic
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily game drives and safari activities
- Lead and assist with guided walking safaris
- Ensure guest safety and adherence to reserve protocols at all times
- Deliver informative, engaging interpretation of wildlife, ecology, and conservation
- Assist with lodge operations and other departments when required
- Bush clearing, veld management, and general field maintenance
- Vehicle care, maintenance checks, and reporting
- Guest hosting, including meal hosting and overall guest experience enhancement
Package:
- Live-in position (shared accommodation may apply)
- 8 days off per month
- 21 days annual leave after one year of service
- Provident fund contribution (compulsory, not part of CTC)
- Uniform and meals provided
- Salary competitive and based on qualifications, with incremental increases per additional qualification
