About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our team at Craven Cottage CC in Mpumalanga. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service, while also maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular stock-takes, order, and replenish all bars and cellars from the liquor store at main camp whilst ensuring all associated paperwork is promptly and accurately completed.
- Ensure that any food related guest queries are attended to in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain the hygiene standards for compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage stock, including orders, receiving and stock takes.
- Manage employee relations and conduct training on all kitchen operations as required.
- Develop menus where necessary to ensure variety and quality.
Requirements
- Matric
- A formal or tertiary culinary qualification is essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a 5-star safari-camp/lodge kitchen
- Use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and stock control systems
