About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, including financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. The successful candidate will bring professional scepticism and auditing skills to identify potential loopholes in financial systems and create effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Professional scepticism being aware at all times of possible loopholes in the financial systems (banking, HR, accounting, suppliers, taxes etc) and creating systems that address these possible loopholes.
Auditing skills, such as implementation of segregation of duties etc, when creating effective systems.
Creating accounting forecasts.
Knowledge of statutory requirements for companies, such as Employment Equity, Workmens Compensation, Company Taxes (VAT, Income Tax, Customs duties, Employee taxes etc), Companies Act etc.
Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
Reporting on Group costings.
Interpreting monthly management accounts, Group budget vs actual and group costings.
Reporting on Depot profitability, Transport costs and back load profitability, and various other sales analyses.
Constant monitoring of Intergroup loans and servicing them.
Constant monitoring of Cross border suppliers and customers their Aging should be as close as possible to 90 days.
Assisting the financial manager in South Africa with any accounting queries.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance necessary. Minimum 8 years experience in senior financial management.

Qualifications

Formal education/certifications (e.g. Bachelor’s degree) are required for this role.
