Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, detailing, and optimizing complete plant layouts and mechanical systems using SolidWorks. The role requires a balance of practical engineering knowledge and creative design skills to develop efficient, cost-effective, and safe manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop complete plant layouts for processing and manufacturing facilities (including material flow, ergonomics, and service routing).
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks (experience with PDM is advantageous).
- Work closely with project engineers, fabrication teams, and installers to ensure accurate and buildable designs.
- Produce detailed fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs.
- Conduct design reviews, clash detection, and simulation checks where required.
- Apply sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company design standards and client specifications.
- Support installation teams with design clarification, redlines, and on-site adjustments.
- Participate in R&D and continuous improvement initiatives for standardization and innovation.
Qualifications:
- BEng / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficient in SolidWorks (3D modelling, sheet metal, weldments, assemblies, and detailing).
- Experience with industrial or agricultural plant design preferred (e.g. food, nut, or grain processing).
- Familiar with mechanical fabrication, laser cutting, and manufacturing processes.

Suitable candidate must have Minimum 37 years of mechanical design experience, with at least 3 years focused on plant layout or process system design.
