About the Role
The Power Plant Maintenance Engineer position at GCC Factories in Nelspruit is a critical role that requires a highly skilled and experienced engineer to oversee plant maintenance activities, ensure effective preventative maintenance, and reduce breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct plant preventative maintenance
- Overview and assess planned maintenance activities
- Provide input into major breakdowns and analyze all breakdowns
- Develop strategies for the Engineering Department in line with O & M Strategies
- Reduce breakdowns
- Ensure effective plant preventative maintenance
- Understand Power Plant operations and associated risks
- Implement SHERQ Management Systems
- Manage projects using MS Project
- Utilize strong skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Conduct auditing activities
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working with GCC Factories
- 15 years of experience in POWER PLANT/Utilities environment
Qualifications
- Formal education/certification in Mechanical Engineering (if applicable)
