About the Role

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by identifying new business opportunities, promoting the company’s technical product range, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role requires a proactive sales approach, strong technical understanding of hydraulic systems, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service while achieving sales and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the company’s full range of products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers.
  • Prepare, present, and negotiate quotations and sales proposals.
  • Apply solution-based selling by recommending products and services that meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver comprehensive product solutions.

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a technical sales environment.
  • At least 5 years experience in technical roles within hydraulics or related industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and circuitry.
  • Technical knowledge within the hydraulics and/or automation industry.
  • Valid drivers licence.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Syspro will be advantageous.
