About the Role

Safari JOBS is searching for an Anchor/Duty Manager to become part of the passionate team at an award-winning, leading safari hospitality group. The main purpose of the Anchor is to provide a personalised, professional concierge and reception service; as well as host guests in line with the company standards and operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure ultimate guest relations in the lodge and that the at home personal attention levels are maintained
  • Management and training of the lodge staff in line with the establishments Standard of Excellence
  • Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping, maintenance, and gardening to ensure that all areas are always kept clean and tidy, and style and design are not eroded
  • Effective financial management through the administration of orders and effective stock control
  • Communication with departmental teams to ensure that guest needs are met, and operations run effectively
  • Effective daily administration of the concierge and reception duties
  • Maintenance of the guest database to achieve service excellence
  • Ensuring the quality and care of equipment and products
  • Active participation in and effective communication and support of the establishment conservation message and purpose
  • Performance of other tasks as reasonably requested from time to time and as required by the business and/or operation

Requirements

  • Clear criminal record
  • Exceptional English communication skills written & verbal
  • Speaking of a second language preferable
  • Excellent employment track record with references will be checked
  • Good computer literacy
  • South African National or Expat with citizenship or valid working visa
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Min. 4 years experience ideally 2 years as a trainee in a well-recognized 5* hotel or world-class lodge, as an Assistant Manager

Salary & Benefits

  • Monthly remuneration: CTC package NEG. DOE – Please advise expectation upon application;
  • Accommodation: Some rooms have one room with a bathroom or a loft room with a lounge and bathroom. Some senior rooms have basic kitchenettes.
  • Facilities that contribute to employees well-being and life balance, an opportunity to feel at home and enjoy social gatherings or work functions at the pool, bar, TV lounge and pool table, braai areas, gym and school;
  • Uniform excluding shoes;
  • Onsite staff transport;
  • Utilities water and electricity, free Wi-Fi, generator;
  • Room cleaning service: mandatory at nominal monthly set contribution fee.
  • Housekeepers wash uniforms, and personal clothing, excluding handwashing, and clean rooms daily;
  • Three meals a day provided at the canteen;
  • The bar is open 7 days a week for drinks, snacks, and toiletries. Any purchases will be charged to the employees staff account which will be deducted from the salary;
  • Onsite Paramedic;
  • Medical aid – compulsory for senior staff (Employees can choose their preferred plan);
  • Provident fund compulsory;
  • Annual bonus at the discretion of management and salary review in January;
  • Gratuities from guests or share in the general gratuity pool;
