We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Fitter and Turner to join our production team. In this role, you must have the ability to work with various machinery and tools, key skills include mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, problem-solving and to work with exceptionally tight tolerances (often to the micron level). Your work will be critical to the performance and reliability of our final products.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate manual machines (e.g., Conventional Lathes).Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions, paying close attention to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Perform in-process and final inspections using a wide range of precision metrology equipment, including micrometres, bore gauges, CMMs, and surface profilometers.Maintain dimensional accuracy and high-quality surface finishes on all parts.Troubleshoot and resolve machining or quality issues, making necessary adjustments to offsets and machine parameters.Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Required Skills & Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Fitter and Turner in a high-precision environment.Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings.Proficient with a wide range of precision measuring instruments.The ability to work with various machinery and tools.A meticulous, detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Willing to work overtime.Desirable Skills:Experience with machines and controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens).Technical qualification in Fitting and Turning.Experience in components for the mining, electrical industries.What We Offer:A highly competitive salary, commensurate with experience.A clean, working environment.Opportunities for overtime and professional development.A supportive team culture where quality craftsmanship is valued.How to Apply:Please submit your CV/resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience to .za with the subject line “Fitter and Turner Application”
