About the Role
The Administration Controller/ 2IC/ Assistant Store Manager role is a critical position that requires exceptional administrative and management skills to ensure the smooth operation of our store’s day-to-day activities. As the right candidate, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the store’s administration, including cash handling, inventory management, customer service, and staff performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash: Ensure daily banking is done in conjunction with the Store Manager as per procedures, and all cash ups balance with banking. The drop safe must always be locked, and its key kept by the Admin Controller.
- Administration: Control the standard of administration and procedures in the store, enforcing relevant disciplines to maintain these standards. Prepare requisitions for stock replenishment, ensure daily morning filing is done as per procedures, and authorise all transactions.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness in back office and Cash Desk area, and return merchandise to the floor.
- Security/Risk: Manage security of back office and front cash desk, ensuring tags are secured on merchandise, and maintaining Health & Safety standards. Prevent shrinkage by implementing company processes and procedures.
- Customer Services: Train staff in customer service at the cash desk, assist customers with enquiries and complaints, and apply customer service principles daily.
- People Management: Manage performance and development of cash desk staff, ensuring all procedures and policies are followed, and enforcing disciplinary action when necessary.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- NQF 5 Certificate in Retail/Business Administration
- Computer Literate: Word and Excel
- 2 – 5 years in relevant sales/cashier environment
