About the Role

CFW Industries Ltd, a leading manufacturer of fans for the industrial, mining, power generation, and HVAC sectors in Southern Africa, is seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join our team. As part of our commitment to quality and innovation, we require a skilled professional to produce accurate technical drawings and documentation for fan components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, including assembly, fabrication, and layout.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with project, company, and ISO standards.
  • Interpret engineers’ design briefs and develop practical manufacturing solutions.
  • Attend design briefings and cross-check with engineers before finalising drawings.
  • Update existing drawings according to revisions and maintain accurate revision records.
  • Implement drawing revision control procedures and utilise document management systems.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO, company, and client standards, and stay updated on mechanical codes.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, production, and quality teams; attend design meetings.
  • Complete drawing tasks within required timeframes and prioritise based on project deadlines.
  • Enhance drafting skills, software proficiency, and propose workflow improvements.
  • Support quality assurance by providing accurate drawings for inspections and dimensional checks.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in draughting
  • Proven experience as a Production Draughtsman or Mechanical Draftsmen (preferably in fan or mechanical engineering)
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and preparing detailed production drawings
