Hire Resolve is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our client’s esteemed retail company in Pietermaritzburg with numerous branches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and retail industry experience.
Responsibilities:
– Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets
– Manage accounts payable and receivable
– Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
– Prepare tax returns and assist with tax planning
– Provide financial analysis and reporting to management
– Monitor and maintain internal controls
– Assist with audits and compliance requirements
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
– Experience with recurring Journals
– Experience with Intercompany Accounting
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
– Professional accounting designation is a plus (AGA(SA), SAIPA, SAICA, etc)
– At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail industry
– Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
– Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks, Sage)
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
