About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our client’s esteemed retail company in Pietermaritzburg with numerous branches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and retail industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare tax returns and assist with tax planning
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to management
- Monitor and maintain internal controls
- Assist with audits and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Experience with recurring Journals
- Experience with Intercompany Accounting
Requirements
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks, Sage)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional accounting designation is a plus (AGA(SA), SAIPA, SAICA, etc)
