About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and technical professional to lead our assembly plant operations, ensuring high-quality standards and efficiency improvements. As a Quality Auditor – Technical Lead – Assembly Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing plant operations, implementing quality management systems, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage plant operations, including line management and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Implement and maintain quality management systems to ensure compliance with OEM regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct internal audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and optimize production workflows.
- Develop and lead committees to manage plant operations, including CKD operations and OEM standards.
Requirements
- Technical Lead: Grade 12 or equivalent; National Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Quality Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Assembly Plant Manager: Grade 12 or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Operations Management, with a postgraduate qualification in Management or Lean Manufacturing considered highly advantageous.
- Quality Auditor: Grade 12 or equivalent; National Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Quality Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Qualifications
- Technical Lead: Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Factories) is advantageous. Demonstrable experience with lifting equipment, chassis jigs, and riveting machines is advantageous.
- Assembly Plant Manager: Heavy automotive industry experience (non-neg). Committee management experience. CKD operations experience. OEM standards experience. Lead plant operations experience.
- Quality Auditor: ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 internal auditor certification (preferred). Code 14 (EC) drivers licence. Familiarity with South African regulatory requirements, including NRCS and homologation.
