About the Role

PAR Excellence is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of our production equipment and facilities. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of electrical and mechanical systems, including temperature control, cold chain management, and product specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment
• Perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance repairs of production machines and equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and plant facilities, including painting, plumbing, and carpentry
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and perform simple machinist duties
• Accurately complete job cards for all tasks performed
• Conduct quality control of products during production and workmanship, detecting faulty operations or defective material

Requirements

• Technical Gr12/N3 Electrical Engineering Studies and Comp Lit
• 5 years of electrical/mechanical maintenance experience in a food/meat processing or packing factory environment
• Hygiene/HMS/HACCP/GMP knowledge and experience with temperature control and cold chain management
• Full working knowledge of all equipment used in the production facility and operational systems
