About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Business Intelligence Developer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our business intelligence team, you will be responsible for designing and developing data visualizations using Power BI, as well as collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide training on Power BI usage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review report data to ensure integrity of data
  • Test data to identify and understand anomalies
  • Creation of Visual Reports using Power BI and ZAP
  • Develop, maintain, publish, and schedule Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data models, reports, and dashboards.
  • Integrate Power BI reports with various data sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint and cloud services
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements for Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Provide training and support to business users on Power BI usage and apply best practices.
  • Work with IT and data teams to ensure data governance and security policies are adhered to.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma majoring in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics
  • At least two years experience with Power BI and SQL
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are required
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack including, SQL Server (database), SSIS (extract, transform and load), SSAS (analytics) and SSRS (reporting)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint
  • Experience with and knowledge of data warehousing
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, analysis
  • Experience writing SQL Queries (minimum of 2 years)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office Professional application suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
  • Knowledge of ERP application SYSPRO beneficial
