About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Superintendent to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our maintenance function, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing budgets, and implementing energy-saving initiatives to drive efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance operations within the Wheel Making area
- Ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability to meet production planning requirements
- Work closely with the Maintenance Superintendent (Wheel Finishing) and the Maintenance Planner to ensure continuous plant services and infrastructure
- Maintain and regularly review critical spare parts inventory for the Wheel Making department
- Identify, analyse, and resolve maintenance constraints or equipment breakdowns efficiently
- Manage and control the maintenance budget for the Wheel Making section
- Collaborate with the Production Department to identify operational challenges and implement effective technical solutions
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing plant energy consumption and environmental footprint
- Contribute to the development and implementation of energy-saving projects and technologies
- Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team when required
- Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with required standards and procedures
Requirements
- Red Seal Trade Qualification (Mechanical or Industrial Electrical) essential
- National Diploma in Engineering or related field advantageous
- Supervisory or Leadership Qualification advantageous
