JOB DESCRIPTION Implementation, maintenance, and optimization of physical and virtual server infrastructure. Racking, cabling, and configuring physical servers, storage, and networking equipment. This includes managing power distribution units (PDUs) and ensuring proper, organized cabling. Installing, upgrading, and patching server operating systems (Windows Server). Optimize performance, manage server capacity, and configure virtualization solutions like VMware or Hyper-V. Applying security configurations, performing vulnerability scanning, and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. Creating and updating documentation regarding system configurations, network diagrams, and incident reports. Tracking inventory, documenting server configurations, and managing vendor relationships for repairs and maintenance. Developing and maintaining backup and recovery solutions to prevent data loss. Providing leadership in the alignment of the ICT and business strategy ensuring that the company gains full value from its investment in IT services and its people. Providing a coherent link between ICT and the business ensuring that the business needs are met by the overarching company IT strategy. Lead, motivate and inspire the ICT department by delivering an ICT strategy that delivers innovation and enables the wider business to become leaner through the effective use of existing and emerging ICT Information Systems. Ensure that appropriate skill levels are maintained through the provision of a successful training and development programme. Providing accountability for the successful provision of all ICT services, delivered either internally or externally, as required by the business. Acting as the final escalation point for service-related issues ensuring that resolutions are proactively sought and delivered. Chairing SLA meetings, and attending, various meeting and forums with the mandate to ensure that ongoing readiness of the ICT Strategy meets the needs of all business change programmes and initiatives. Providing a professional and customer orientated approach in both the departments culture and through own personal leadership style. JOB REQUIREMENTS PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: National Certificate Matric Grade 12 BCOM in Commerce and IT Management Degree Microsoft Certified: Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP). Cyber Security Certificate Prince 2 Project Management ITIL Service Management Foundation MNE (Master Network Engineer) Diploma ANE (Associate NetworK Engineer) Diploma 5 years of management experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CRITICAL COMPETENCIES: ICT Service delivery and SLA Management Infrastructure Design and Implementation O/S MS WINDOWS 10 PRO Project Management Policy development and Implementation ICT Governance ICT Networking protocols Patch management (SCCM/Intune), antivirus, and VPN technologies. ICT Disaster Recovery ICT Configuration Management ICT Mobile Computing and Wireless Communications SQL Administration Active Directory Management and Group Policy Implementation DHCP & DNS administration and support Mimecast email administration and support In-depth knowledge of Windows Server (2016-2022) Exchange server maintenance and Support Expert-level administration of VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V. SAN Support and Maintenance Veeam and Symantec backup Support Zoom and Skype communication Technology support LAN and WAN maintenance and support Experience with enterprise hardware, specifically HP and related monitoring tools.
