Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the manufacturing industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Retail Store Manager to join their team based in Pretoria.

5 years experience in Retail Sales and/or Marketing of which up to 3 years should be at supervisory / managerial level, secures!

Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Minimum)
  • Diploma in Business Administration / Sales / Marketing
  • 5 years experience in Retail Sales and/or Marketing of which up to 3 years should be at supervisory / managerial level
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite; other relevant discipline-specific software programs)
  • Communication skills (both verbal and written)

Responsibilities:

Retail Store Operations

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational reviews to achieve business objectives
  • Ensure merchandise availability through effective inventory management
  • Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to drive revenue growth
  • Develop and implement pricing and promotional strategies
  • Analyse market trends and customer buying behaviour
  • Maintain store presentation, merchandising standards, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure store security measures are maintained and company assets protected
  • Schedule, allocate, and monitor employee activities to ensure operational effectiveness

Compliance, Risk and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational controls
  • Identify, monitor, and report operational risks
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers

Customer Service and Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and customer satisfaction
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues effectively
  • Represent the organisation in meetings and stakeholder engagements
  • Promote a customer-centric culture throughout the store

Staff Leadership and Development

  • Lead, motivate, and manage store employees
  • Conduct performance reviews and employee development discussions
  • Identify training and development opportunities
  • Manage employee relations matters professionally and fairly
  • Foster a high-performance and collaborative team environment

Financial and Budget Management

  • Assist with budget planning and financial forecasting
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure adherence to budget requirements
  • Analyse store performance and profitability metrics
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies
  • Ensure responsible management of company resources
