About the Role
The Sales and Business Development Representative will drive new customer acquisition, manage existing client relationships, and support the sales team to meet aggressive growth targets. The ideal candidate will be both technically proficient and commercially savvy, capable of translating customer needs into effective and compliant wastewater treatment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and penetrate new market segments including rural communities, schools, mines, lodges, informal settlements, and municipalities.
- Build a strong sales pipeline by proactively engaging prospects and converting leads into sales.
- Conduct site assessments, develop pricing proposals, and deliver compelling client presentations.
- Collaborate internally on project specifications, quotations, and handovers.
- Provide on-site training, support system commissioning, and manage customer relationships post-installation.
- Represent the company at trade shows and public events, promoting our unique value proposition.
- Gather market intelligence and support continuous product improvement.
Requirements
National Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Water Technology, Civil or Process Engineering, or Business Development. 3–5 years of technical solution sales in water/wastewater or environmental tech sectors. Proven ability in field-based relationship management and consultative selling. Understanding of biological treatment technologies and regulatory frameworks (e.g., National Water Act). Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 70%. Flexible to work extended hours when required.
