About the Role
The Dispatch Manager role at Fordec Holdings is a critical position that oversees all online and retail orders, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation, strict cold chain compliance, and cost control across outbound logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, routing, scheduling, and safe dispatch of all orders, as well as managing in-house fleet operations and external transport providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimise daily multi-drop delivery routes
- Manage routing to minimise fuel consumption, travel time, and vehicle wear
- Plan deliveries in accordance with store receiving windows
- Improve on-time delivery performance (target ≥95%)
- Monitor route efficiency and adjust based on traffic patterns
- Utilise routing software or structured planning systems
- Reduce cost per drop and cost per kilometre
- Ensure optimal vehicle loading based on weight, volume, and drop sequence
Requirements
- Matric and IT literate, MS Office (ERP, Excel & Route Planning Software)
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in FMCG logistics or dispatch management
- Proven experience in fleet routing and multi-drop planning
- Experience managing in-house fleet operations
- Experience in frozen/temperature-controlled distribution
- Strong understanding of Road Traffic legislation
