About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing street light installations in Pretoria, ensuring maximum uptime and adhering to health and safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, expert knowledge of electrical installations, and experience working in a toll plaza environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of all electrical and mechanical equipment and buildings at the plazas and on median streetlights and masts.
- Repair all malfunctioning equipment and buildings as per the maintenance manual and procedures.
- Report all incidents in the prescribed manner.
- Ensure tools are kept in a good and clean working order.
- Adhere to healthy, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Supervise work done at plazas/median lights, mast lights, and traffic lights by subcontractors to ensure:
- Work is performed according to standard and specification.
- Quality of work is in line with the requirements.
- Site is left neat and clean.
- Perform overtime and standby duties as required.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Qualified Artisan: Electrical/Mechanical – Red Seal Valid Unendorsed Code 10 Drivers License (PDP)
- At least 3 years related experience
- Excellent communication skills in English (written & oral)
- Expert knowledge of electrical installations
- Expert knowledge of Generators and UPS’s
- Interpersonal relationship skills
- Self-management
- Basic computer literacy skills
