About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with experience in UNIX and Solaris environments, specifically with Connect:Direct. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining these systems, ensuring security and performance. They will work as part of a team to provide technical support and guidance to users regarding system-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain UNIX and Solaris operating systems
- Perform regular system updates and patches to ensure security
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Administer and configure Connect:Direct for file transfer
- Implement automation scripts to facilitate scheduled and on-demand file transfers
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in system engineering, specifically with UNIX and Solaris environments
- Demonstrated experience in administering and managing Connect:Direct or similar file transfer technologies
- Proficiency in networking fundamentals and security
- Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Perl) for automation
Qualifications
- UNIX/Solaris Certifications (such as Solaris Certified Systems Administrator or UNIX System Administration certifications)
- Linux Certifications (additional certifications like Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) if Linux experience is also relevant)
