Head of Housekeeping | Johannesburg | Private Estate A distinguished private family estate in Johannesburg seeks a highly experienced HEAD OF HOUSEKEEPING (EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER) to lead and oversee all housekeeping operations across the principal residence, guest accommodation, and wider property assets. This senior position demands exceptional organisational ability, discretion, and a deep understanding of ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) household standards. The successful candidate will ensure immaculate presentation and seamless service delivery across all areas, managing a professional housekeeping team aligned to the lifestyle and expectations of the Residents and their VIP guests. Employment Details Start Date: July/August 2026 Contract Type: Permanent Salary Range: will be discussed with shortlisted candidates Accommodation: Option available if required Working Hours: 45-hour week; flexibility required when Principals are in residence Annual Leave: In line with South African labour practices Household Composition: 2 adults Eligibility: South African citizens or with valid SA work permit. Key Responsibilities Housekeeping Operations Oversee all housekeeping functions across multiple residences, maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and organisation. Team Leadership Lead, train, and manage a team of 68 housekeeping staff, ensuring optimal performance and flexible rostering aligned to the Residents schedule. Laundry & Wardrobe Management Supervise all laundry operations, garment care, and wardrobe organisation, including delicate and high-value fabrics. Linen Management Oversee linen lifecycle management, inventory, and quality control across all properties. Standards & Quality Control Conduct regular inspections and implement continuous improvement practices to maintain excellence. Candidate Profile Minimum 8 – 10 years experience in a senior housekeeping role within a UHNW household or private estate. Proven ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all housekeeping functions. Strong expertise in laundry operations ; eco-friendly cleaning ; and linen management . Exceptional leadership, discretion, and attention to detail. Calm under pressure, highly organised, and emotionally intelligent.
