About the Role
The Country Club in Bryanston is seeking a Racquets Pavilion Manager to oversee the operation of their racquets hub, which features 8 tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, 4 squash courts, and 3 state-of-the-art padel courts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the pavilion, ensuring excellent service delivery to members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and plan the day-to-day operation of the racquets pavilion, including maintenance and cleaning.
- Manage racquets facilities, court bookings, court utilisation, and general operations.
- Manage equipment sales and rental, as well as area maintenance equipment requirements.
- Work with management to ensure accurate accounting of income and expenditure.
- Supervise assigned staff in check-in and Food & Beverage areas, reporting any F&B issues to the Pavilion restaurant manager.
- Provide information and service to members and guests about available facilities and activities.
- Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for members and their guests.
- Organise private and club activations and events, as well as social events for racquet sports.
- Design and deliver programmes across all racquets sports to attract new players, maximise court utilisation, and drive participation and revenue.
- Establish induction processes to help players extend their activity and introduce members and their guests to all racquet sports.
- Promote the rules and regulations of the courts and facility for the safety and welfare of guests and members.
- Respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Degree or Diploma in Sports Management or Sports Marketing, or equivalent.
- At least 3-5 years experience in sports management or sports marketing.
- Excellent fitness levels and actively participate in sports.
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Vibrant personality.
- Strong administrative ability (e.g. maintaining asset registers, stock counts).
- Friendly, calm, and approachable demeanour.
- Passionate about expanding all racquet sports.
- Organised, proactive, and able to multitask.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Innovative, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering a high standard of service.
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
