About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to lead our team at one of the Overbergs most popular eateries, celebrating its 12th year of serving delicious home-made local cuisine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards, innovating new dishes, and motivating the team to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus that showcase creative ideas and exciting dishes
- Lead a team of kitchen staff, providing guidance, support, and motivation to achieve excellent service standards
- Maintain high-quality food preparation, presentation, and safety standards
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize efficiency
- Collaborate with the management team to develop marketing strategies and promote the restaurant’s brand
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene, and environmental standards
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Head Chef or equivalent in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Proven track record of creating innovative menus and managing high-performing teams
- Strong knowledge of local cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

- Formal education in culinary arts or a related field (e.g., BSc in Food Science)
