About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Guide to join our team at a luxury lodge in Welgevonden. As a Field Guide, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional safari experiences for guests in a Big 5 game reserve. You will have the opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team to provide world-class service and unforgettable experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily game drives and safaris
- Conduct Walking Safaris if qualified as a trails guide
- Assist in lodge operations and other departments when required
- Bush clearing and field maintenance as needed
- Host meals and enhance guest experiences
- Vehicle maintenance and upkeep
- Receive guests at reserve gates
- Monthly stock takes, field guide reports, and recording wildlife sightings
Requirements
- Valid RSA Drivers Licence
- PDP Minimum NQF 4
- Back-up and Lead Trails experience considered an advantage
- NDT Registration (Limpopo)
- Valid First Aid with Wilderness component
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Field Guide in a Big 5 game reserve
- Paid-up FGASA membership

Salary & Benefits
Salary negotiable based on qualifications. Live-in accommodation, 21 Days On / 7 Days Off roster, 21 annual leave days after one year’s service, and 5% Provident Fund (compulsory) provided.
