About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our prestigious Wine Estate Restaurant in Philadelphia, Western Cape. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and driving culinary excellence. If you have a passion for fine dining, seasonal menu development, and wine pairing, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full kitchen operations, ensuring smooth daily service
- Lead, mentor, and develop the kitchen brigade
- Create and cost seasonal menus aligned with the Wine Estate brand
- Maintain strict stock control and manage supplier relationships
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation consistency
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Manage kitchen budgets and drive profitability
- Collaborate with management to enhance the overall Restaurant guest experience
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-end or fine dining Restaurant. Strong Leadership and team management skills within a hospitality kitchen. Ability to design and execute seasonal, wine-paired menus suited to a Wine Estate environment. Excellent food cost control, budgeting, and stock management experience. Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Salary & Benefits
R20 000 – R25 000 per month (dependent on experience)
