About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hostess / Duty Manager to join our luxury guest farm in Franschhoek. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating unforgettable experiences for our guests while overseeing daily operations in the Food & Beverage team.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests by name, creating a friendly, professional, and memorable first impression
- Oversee daily operations in the Food & Beverage team, ensuring smooth service and top-notch guest experiences
- Prepare and serve fresh teas, juices, smoothies, cordials, and cocktails using herbs, fruits, and vegetables harvested from the farm
- Demonstrate excellent wine knowledge and barista skills, including alternative milk options such as oat and almond
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and F&B teams regarding special requests, menu items, and service flow
- Conduct stock takes and ordering for perishables, beverages, and operating equipment
- Manage setup and breakdown of dining areas, pool service, and mini-bars for guest arrivals
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and guest service
- Be a visible, approachable presence, ensuring guests feel attended to, valued, and cared for
Requirements
- Practical experience in hospitality or F&B management
- High energy, flexible, and able to adapt to changing shifts at short notice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional yet warm approach
- Passion for sustainability, wellness, and regenerative practices
- Able to lead a team while working hands-on alongside them
