About the Role

Safari JOBS is seeking a capable and detail-focused Housekeeping Supervisor for an established premium hospitality property. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a housekeeping professional who takes pride in maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout a guest-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the housekeeping team to ensure daily duties are completed to the required standard.
  • Monitor staff attendance, timekeeping, and overall adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Allocate daily tasks and assist in coordinating workflow to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to maintain high levels of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide guidance, support, and on-the-job coaching where needed.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure that housekeeping service is delivered efficiently and professionally.
  • Look for ways to improve housekeeping systems, service standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Help resolve housekeeping-related issues, including guest concerns, room discrepancies, or operational challenges.
  • Complete departmental reports and assist in monitoring productivity, staffing levels, and service quality.
  • Participate in staff training and support the ongoing development of the housekeeping team.
  • Be flexible and available to assist after hours when operationally required.

Requirements

  • Clear criminal record
  • Excellent employment track record
  • English fluency & literacy
  • Basic computer literacy / understanding
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional qualifications in hospitality management are a bonus
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry

Basic monthly remuneration of approx. R10, 000.00, plus:

Work Cycle / Hours

The position operates on a rotating schedule of 6 consecutive working days, with 1 day off in the first week and 2 days off in the second week, repeating on an ongoing basis. Must be flexible and open to shift / weekend / holiday / evening work / other possible change in line with operational requirements.
