About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team in South Africa. As an instrumentation technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mining facility. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be invaluable in maintaining and repairing instrumentation, control systems, valves, and PLC-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and fault-find instrumentation, control systems, valves, and PLC-based systems
- Conduct planned maintenance, repairs, and overhauls
- Diagnose faults using circuit diagrams, software, and instrumentation drawings
- Work with PLCs, VSD drives, and measuring instruments (weighbridges, level detectors, temperature controllers)
- Maintain accurate job cards, registers, and spares inventory
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams and liaise with planning for remedial work
- Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
Requirements
- N2 Trade Certificate (minimum)
- Code 8 drivers licence
- Minimum 5 years plant maintenance experience
- Strong PLC, VSD, and instrumentation fault-finding skills
- Mining / processing plant experience (diamond plant exposure highly advantageous)
