About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Back-End Developer to join our dynamic Development and Engineering team in Centurion. As a technical leader, you will provide guidance, drive delivery excellence, and contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across teams in the delivery of products and solutions
- Manage and mentor development team members, fostering growth and collaboration
- Ensure alignment of development efforts with strategic objectives and planning
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design in collaboration with stakeholders
- Uphold and enforce best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
- Maintain and enhance existing systems without introducing defects
- Support the adoption of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure timely completion of work within agreed delivery timelines
- Document systems and enhancements to support knowledge sharing
- Promote adherence to development standards, tools, and processes
- Coach and mentor junior developers within the team
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in IT or a related field with at least 6 years’ relevant experience, or 8 years’ relevant experience without a qualification
- Proven experience working within Agile/SCRUM environments
- Strong experience in C# development
- Experience with .NET Core, WCF, and WebAPI is advantageous
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (TFS/Git) or Microsoft Team Foundation Server is beneficial
- Solid experience with SQL Server (2016/2019), including:
- Relational database design
- Writing complex SQL queries
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services is advantageous
- Exposure to message queue technologies such as RabbitMQ, ApacheMQ, or Kafka is beneficial
- Experience with multi-threading and parallel development is advantageous
- Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is beneficial
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification is advantageous
- Strong understanding of coding standards and source control practices
- Experience applying SOLID, KISS, TDD, DDD, and Clean Code principles
