About the Role
The Maintenance Manager role at our boutique safari lodge is a critical position that ensures seamless operations and exceptional guest satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced professional who can provide technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and hands-on problem-solving abilities to lead our maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily upkeep of lodge infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water systems)
- Maintain pools, gardens, and guest areas to luxury standards
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules and respond to urgent repairs
- Manage a small maintenance team, ensuring efficiency and safety
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized work
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Support seamless guest experiences by keeping facilities in top condition
Requirements
- Proven experience in property or hospitality maintenance management
- Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Hands-on problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Leadership and team management experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to adapt and be resourceful in a remote bush environment
