About the Role

The Maintenance Manager role at our boutique safari lodge is a critical position that ensures seamless operations and exceptional guest satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced professional who can provide technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and hands-on problem-solving abilities to lead our maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily upkeep of lodge infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water systems)
  • Maintain pools, gardens, and guest areas to luxury standards
  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules and respond to urgent repairs
  • Manage a small maintenance team, ensuring efficiency and safety
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized work
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Support seamless guest experiences by keeping facilities in top condition

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property or hospitality maintenance management
  • Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the overall maintenance of our lodge and its facilities, ensuring a seamless guest experience while minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing preventative maintenance programs, servicing equipment, and driving operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall maintenance of the lodge and all facilities
  • Upkeep of buildings, fixtures, furniture, equipment, swimming pools, landscapes, and gardens
  • Implementation of comprehensive preventative maintenance program
  • Servicing of essential equipment to prolong its lifespan
  • Ensuring routine maintenance does not interfere with guest satisfaction
  • Upskilling and developing maintenance team members
  • Performance management and discipline of staff
  • Preparation of reports and provision of relevant information to the General Manager

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma or tertiary qualification in engineering/technical trades
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Maintenance Manager in a large 4 / 5* Lodge / Hotel establishment
  • Experience in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Construction, and Landscaping trades
  • Sound knowledge of refrigeration and aircon units, industrial generators, boreholes, wastewater plants
  • Fine attention to detail and guest-centric approach
