About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at a well-established Country Resort Hotel in the Central Drakensberg. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance department, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks, and providing excellent customer service to hotel guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritise, plan, schedule assign and supervise the maintenance department staff.
  • Oversee the maintenance tasks, work orders and special projects ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Ensure the correct maintenance for the swimming pool, swimming pool pumps and all water reticulation infrastructure.
  • Ensure the generator is in working order and services are booked and recorded.
  • Manage fuel on the site for generator requirements.
  • Respond to guest’s maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient prompt and courteous service to hotel standards.
  • Maintain the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical buildings, mechanical, electrical, painting, plumbing etc.
  • Maintenance of all equipment, including the water plant and wastewater plant.
  • Keep proper records relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
  • Prepare reports as required by the General manager.
  • Ensure stores have adequate stocks of materials, equipment and tools and are kept in a clean and safe environment.
  • Take responsibility for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all plant and mechanical equipment rooms.
  • Ensure the proper use and periodic maintenance of all equipment.
  • Ensure property, grounds, physical buildings and work areas are maintained to standard and that all safety equipment and conditions are to code.

Requirements

  • Matric
  • Any certification on maintenance courses attended such as plumbing, electricity, building works, tiling or any other skill attributable to maintenance of the hotel

Salary & Benefits

  • R15,000 – R18,000 per annum
  • Single live-in accommodation
  • 6 OFF days monthly and 21 days annual leave after 1 full year’s service.
  • Provident fund contributions 7.5% staff member and 7.5% company.
  • Medical aid assistance as a value of 50% of individual’s current medical aid premium up to a value of R2,000 per month
  • All meals and share of general staff tip pool
  • Uniform
  • Sim card with contract for work-related phone usage
