South Africa: Maintenance Planner

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the automotive sector, is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join their Assembly Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with a strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance, planning systems, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced production environment. About the Role: You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant machinery, systems, and equipment by: Initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Developing and maintaining preventative maintenance (PM) and total productive maintenance (TPM) systems using Maximo and Shop Floor Management tools. Analyzing major plant stoppages or breakdowns and driving corrective action to prevent recurrence. Coordinating maintenance schedules, controlling work orders, and ensuring minimal production downtime. Managing facility manuals, calibration records, and related technical documentation. Overseeing cleaning contractors and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. About You: To succeed in this role, you should bring: A Degree or National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering. 3–5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Planner in an automotive manufacturing or similar production environment. Strong knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance , FMEA , and root cause analysis . Experience with production equipment such as conveyors, hoists, and lifts. Solid understanding of project management principles and familiarity with PLC and drive systems . Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, Outlook) and Maximo . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and maintenance teams. Why Apply?
