About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production and Planning Senior Manager to lead our production operations in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and packaging, with expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality control. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing production plans, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans aligned to forecasts
  • Monitor actual production versus plan and initiate corrective actions
  • Oversee material requirements planning and optimize stock levels
  • Lead in-process quality checks, finished product inspections, and QC lab results
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented for quality deviations
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to meet BRC, GMP, HACCP, audit, certification, and compliance standards
  • Ensure full traceability and accurate batch and quality documentation
  • Drive root cause analysis for recurring defects and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and report on OEE, downtime, shift productivity, and labor efficiency
  • Improve cost efficiency through data-driven decision-making and lean practices
  • Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors, Planners, and QC personnel

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a production management role within the food production and packaging industry
  • Strong understanding of fruit processing, packaging standards, and food safety regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications will be advantageous
