About the Role
Nelson Mandela University is seeking a highly accomplished academic to join our esteemed faculty as Professor of Human Technology Interaction in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our institution’s research and teaching agenda, contributing to the development of human-centred digital innovation initiatives, and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in teaching, learning facilitation, supervision, research, and engagement activities related to human-technology interaction and digital innovation.
- Provide strategic management and leadership in the Virtual Academy to ignite human-centred digital innovation initiatives and enhance staff and student competency to use digital technologies effectively and ethically.
- Facilitate transdisciplinary, institution-wide collaboration to achieve the goals and vision of the Virtual Academy.
Requirements
- Doctorate Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., human-technology interaction, technology/computer science, technology-enhanced education or a related relevant field).
- 3-7 years relevant working experience as an associate professor.
- Established academic track record comparable to that of a full or associate professor with diverse teaching, research, and engagement experience.
- Experience in initiating, leading, and researching complex digital innovation projects, preferably including some transdisciplinary projects, and engagement with industry/business partners.

- Completed Doctoral Degree in Human Technology Interaction
