Job Description
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking an Assistant Reservations Manager to join their team in Cape Town. This role involves driving high levels of customer satisfaction, overseeing reservations operations, and contributing to the hotels financial goals. The Assistant Reservations Manager will help supervise the team, manage revenue, and support continuous improvements to systems and processes.
Top Responsibilities:
- Reservation Management:
- Assist in managing daily operations of the reservations department.
- Ensure reservations are processed accurately, including customer details and special requests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory and manage the reservation system.
- Handle phone, email, and online reservations, ensuring availability and rates are clearly communicated.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Provide excellent customer service for guest inquiries and bookings, addressing special requests.
- Resolve guest complaints or concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure clear communication with other departments (e.g., front desk, housekeeping) to meet guest needs.
- Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise the reservations team, ensuring they are well-trained and motivated.
- Provide ongoing feedback, training, and support to team members.
- Ensure the team adheres to hotel policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Revenue Management & Reporting:
- Assist with managing room rates, availability, and inventory to optimize revenue.
- Support the Reservations Manager with reporting on bookings, occupancy, and revenue.
- Monitor bookings to identify trends and recommend rate adjustments as needed.
- System & Process Improvement:
- Contribute to improving reservation processes for efficiency and smooth workflow.
- Stay updated on system upgrades and assist with implementation and training.
- Provide input on strategies for improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Health & Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure operations comply with hotel policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Uphold the hotels commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with maintaining accurate reservation records and documentation.
- Support budget planning, inventory management, and ensure alignment with hotel goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel reservations, with some supervisory experience.
- Experience with property management systems (PMS), online booking platforms, and front desk operations.
- Strong knowledge of reservations and revenue management.
