About the Role
Telebest is seeking a highly skilled Safety Officer to join our team. As a certified safety practitioner with a strong background in safety management, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend, arrange, plan, and maintain regularity of Safety meetings in Maintenance and Operations Departments.
- Obtain the MSDSs for different raw materials handled and used in plants and ensure their safe use.
- Carry out inspections, record, and assist departments in the use of safety equipment.
- Ensure safety equipment complies with the requirements of the OHS Act.
- Investigate, inspect, draw up safety procedures, and train employees in handling raw materials.
- Monitor application and execution of safe work procedures by all employees.
- Record Safety Audits and Inspections carried out on plants and submit to Management on a three-month basis.
- Establish an alphabetic and numeric logical numbering system for the Safety Department.
- Plan and arrange that all employees are trained in the safe use of equipment, machinery, and plant.
Requirements
- Certified Safety Practitioner
- At least a National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent.
- 5 years similar work experience within a similar heavy-duty plant and machinery environment.
- Experienced in Safety Management and Accreditation processes.
- Experience with MS Office.
- Above-average communications skills with different levels of management and employees.
- Physically fit.
Qualifications
- Completed National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent certification.
- Proof of relevant work experience within a similar heavy-duty plant and machinery environment.
