About the Role
Nelson Mandela University is seeking a highly qualified Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in English Home Language to join our Faculty of Humanities. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and researching in the field of Language and Education, with a focus on Africanization and Decolonization of languages within the context of education.
Key Responsibilities
• To teach English as a Home & Second Language at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• To teach English as a Foreign language at a postgraduate level.
• To teach Meta Theories in Language at a postgraduate level.
• To supervise postgraduate students in Language and Education.
• To engage in the assessment of School-Based Learning and Teaching.
• To publish and lead research in the field of Language and Education.
• To participate in Community Engagement.
Requirements
• A relevant PhD or M Ed degree in Language in Education or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience in teaching English at a school level.
• At least 3 years’ experience in teaching English at a university level.
• A proven record of:
• Supervising Master’s and Doctoral students to completion.
• Research productivity in and around the field of Language in Education.
• A sound disciplinary knowledge of Language in Education.
