About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Spa Manager to lead the spa operation within a luxury safari lodge environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can combine exceptional therapy expertise with strong leadership, commercial acumen, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the spa.
- Ensure seamless guest experiences from booking through to treatment completion.
- Maintain exceptional standards of hygiene, presentation, and professionalism.
- Manage spa bookings, scheduling, and treatment flow.
- Deliver personalised luxury guest experiences.
- Manage VIP guests and special requests.
- Ensure all treatments meet international five-star standards.
- Support the overall lodge guest experience when required.
- Lead, train, and mentor spa therapists.
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing skills development.
- Foster a strong team culture with high standards of grooming and professionalism.
- Manage spa revenue, retail performance, and achievement of targets.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and cost management.
- Monitor treatment occupancy and profitability.
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting.
- Work closely with lodge management to ensure the spa aligns with the overall guest journey.
- Support other departments when required, as is common within a luxury lodge environment.
- Contribute to guest hosting and the overall guest experience.
Requirements
Relevant Spa Therapy or Somatology qualification.
CIDESCO certification highly advantageous.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a Spa Manager or Head Therapist role.
Experience within luxury safari lodges, boutique hotels, or high-end hospitality spas.
Proven experience managing teams, budgets, stock control, and retail performance.
Demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional guest service.
