About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Field Guide or Field Guide/Lodge Anchor Couple to join our team at the prestigious Karoo Game Reserve. As part of our unique and personalised safari experiences, guides will lead intimate game drives with a maximum of six guests per vehicle and engage guests through a strong photographic safari focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct exclusive, tailored game drives with a maximum of six guests per vehicle
  • Deliver high-quality wildlife interpretation and exceptional guest hosting
  • Engage guests in photographic guiding where applicable
  • Assist with lodge hosting responsibilities (for Lodge Anchor roles/couples)
  • Maintain and promote the reserve’s conservation and guest-first ethos
  • Ensure guest safety and adherence to professional guiding standards

Requirements

  • FGASA, CATHSSETA NQF2 or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the National Department of Tourism
  • Valid PDP
  • Valid First Aid
  • Solid guiding experience on Big Five reserves
  • Strong guest engagement and communication skills
  • Passion for wildlife, conservation & personalised guiding
  • Photographic knowledge/skills advantageous (camera settings, equipment, lighting, angles, etc.)
  • Photo/video editing skills optional, but beneficial for content creation
